The Prime Minister of Ukraine, Denys Shmyhal, announced that the government has completed work on changes to the State Budget.
He wrote about it on his Facebook.
According to him, budget expenditures, in particular for education, have been preserved as much as possible.
"We finished preliminary work on changes to the State Budget. It was a difficult process, but that is exactly what difficult times call for. What we have in the end. In spite of everything, expenditures on infrastructure and development, culture and education have been preserved as much as possible," the prime minister said.
He also noted that he will inform about the details after the Cabinet of Ministers approves the project of changes to the budget.
As you know, the Ministry of Finance, in connection with the need to create a Stabilization Fund to combat the consequences of the spread of the COVID-19 virus, proposes to significantly reduce the total amount of funding for education and science.
The Ministry of Education and Science, the Parliamentary Committee on Education, Science and Innovation, and the Central Committee of the Trade Union of Education and Science Workers categorically opposed the initiative.
