According to the adopted decision of the Kyiv City Council, two different specialized institutions will be formed through the division of the Department of Education and Science, Youth and Sports of the KMDA. Thus, in the future, separate departments will be responsible for the development of education and sports in the capital - the Department of Education and Science and the Department of Sports and Youth. Such a decision, in particular, will ensure direct subordination to the relevant ministry, which will significantly improve work in the field of youth and sports. This was announced by the Deputy Head of the Kyiv City State Administration, Hanna Starostenko.
"The rapid development and development of Kyiv requires the executive power to review its work and use available human resources more rationally. Kyiv is the only one among the regions of Ukraine that, before the decision was made, combined the implementation of state policy in the spheres of education and science and in the youth sphere, spheres of physical culture and sports, and national-patriotic education. This state of affairs significantly hampered the implementation of city and state programs," said project initiator Hanna Starostenko.
According to her, before the reformation, the DonMS was experiencing significant functional overload, because there are 4,327 sports facilities in Kyiv that require accounting, examinations, inspections, etc. At the same time, the number of subordinate secondary schools increased by 34 institutions, and the number of mass and sports events increased to 1,000.
"The Ministry of Youth and Sports has repeatedly raised the issue of creating a specialized department. After all, this decision makes it possible to simplify the work of the entire system and rationally form management structures, and therefore to significantly reduce the time for the execution of assignments," said Hanna Starostenko.
