The Cabinet of Ministers approved the personnel of the Competition Commission for the selection of members of the National Agency for Quality Assurance of Higher Education. The relevant order was adopted today, January 31, 2018, during the Government meeting.
The commission included 9 people - representatives of European organizations, associations of students, employers, Ministry of Education and Science, academies of sciences. Their candidacies were submitted by the relevant institutions. One of the requirements for members of the commission was the availability of a scientific degree and/or academic title or professional work experience of at least 5 years for all, except for student representatives and international representatives.
The staff is approved for 3 years without the right to re-approve for a second term.
So, the commission included:
Heli Matthiesen - Director of the Estonian Higher Education Quality Assurance Agency (European Association for Quality Assurance in Higher Education);
Gohar Hovhannisyan – member of the executive committee and expert in quality assurance (European Student Union);
Alina Zholud - head of the secretariat of the Ukrainian Association of Students;
Vasyl Kostrytsia - representative of the Federation of Employers of Ukraine;
Volodymyr Lugovy - first vice-president of the National Academy of Pedagogical Sciences of Ukraine;
Patricia Georgieva – associate professor, vice-rector for accreditation and quality control at the University of Agrarian Business and Agricultural Development in Plovdiv, Bulgaria (European Association of Higher Education Institutions);
Yurii Rashkevich - Deputy Minister of Education and Science of Ukraine;
Petro Stryzhak - head of the department of the Institute of Physical Chemistry named after L.V. Pysarzhevsky National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine;
Tia Loukkola is the director of the department of institutional development (Association of European Universities).
The commission should develop Regulations on the competition for the election of agency members, form qualification requirements for candidates, organize and conduct a competitive selection of agency members. In particular, qualification requirements should include a scientific degree or professional work experience of at least 5 years for everyone, except for representatives of student self-government bodies.
