Already this year, institutions of higher education will have broad powers regarding independent management of funds, while remaining a non-profit organization.
This is emphasized by the Ministry of Education, referring to the plan of priority actions of the government for 2021 approved by the Cabinet of Ministers.
The department notes that ensuring the full financial autonomy of higher education institutions for carrying out their activities is a priority of the ministry in the field of higher education.
"Institutions of higher education will have broad powers to independently manage funds, determine the internal system and level of remuneration, freely attract investments, while remaining a non-profit organization with all available tax benefits", emphasized Minister of Education and Science Serhii Shkarlet, commenting on the approval of the government's priority action plan.
In addition, the state plans to attract financial resources to restore development expenditures, in particular, to modernize the system of higher education institutions.
Negotiations are currently underway regarding the signing of a credit agreement between Ukraine and the International Bank for Reconstruction and Development to support reforms in the field of higher education.
