Schools should be excluded from the list of institutions that are subject to closure when implementing levels of anti-epidemic measures.

The Commissioner for Human Rights of the Verkhovna Rada, Lyudmila Denisova, wrote about this on her Facebook page.

According to her, the transfer of educational institutions to a remote form of work as a restriction should be applied in case of non-compliance with the level of vaccination of teachers and an increase in the level of illness of students.

"Vaccination of educators in Ukraine is taking place at a fairly fast pace (if in August not even a third of teachers were vaccinated, then as of November 8, almost 931 TP3T workers received one dose of vaccination, and 76.2 % - two doses). The morbidity rate of children, according to the Ministry of Health of Ukraine, does not exceed 8% of the total number of people infected with COVID-19," Lyudmila Denisova said.

She also noted that the transition to distance learning is taking place in the field, despite compliance with all regulated restrictions.

"The monitoring carried out by me confirms that, despite compliance with all regulated restrictions and anti-epidemic measures in educational institutions, including the vaccination percentage, local authorities and local self-government bodies, as well as educational institutions themselves, independently make decisions regarding additional vacations or distance learning ", Lyudmila Denisova stressed.

Therefore, in order to ensure the right of children to receive a quality education, the Verkhovna Rada Commissioner for Human Rights sent an appeal to the Minister of Health and the Minister of Education regarding the revision of the position regarding the transfer of educational institutions to a distance form, in particular, their exclusion from the list of institutions that are subject to closure, when introduction of levels of anti-epidemic measures.
