The state continues to fulfill its obligations regarding the maintenance of teaching staff of general secondary education institutions to provide high-quality general secondary education in accordance with legally established standards.
Deputy Minister of Finance Roman Yermolychev said this.
In addition, according to him, despite the challenges associated with the need to respond to the pandemic, the state steadily continues to increase teachers' wages.
"Therefore, the funds provided for in the state budget for 2021 will allow local self-government bodies to increase the salaries of teaching staff of general secondary education institutions by an average of 25.5 %," Yermolychev said.
He noted that in the State Budget of Ukraine for 2021, 99.6 billion UAH is provided for wages and accruals of teaching staff of general secondary education institutions, which is 18.7 billion UAH more than in 2020.
These funds will be used to pay the wages of more than 400,000 teachers.
"The direction of financing education remains a priority of the state. After all, quality education should be available both in urban and rural areas, regardless of where the student lives," noted Roman Yermolychev.
