The Minister of Health Zoryana Skaletska declares that currently there is no reason to massively cancel studies in schools and kindergartens. The minister wrote about this on her Facebook, reacting to the discovery of the first case of the coronavirus in Ukraine.
"Can children go to kindergartens and schools after the first case of coronavirus was recorded in Ukraine? In each oblast, anti-epidemic commissions have been created to monitor the situation and provide their recommendations. Currently, there is no reason to massively cancel education in schools (kindergartens)," Skaletska said.
Also, according to her, in order to protect oneself from the coronavirus as much as possible, every Ukrainian must follow clear rules and act according to algorithms.
In particular, in the case of symptoms of acute respiratory syndrome, the minister advised to consult a family doctor immediately.
In addition, according to her, masks should be worn only when a person already has symptoms of an acute respiratory disease. On the contrary, wearing a mask creates a false sense of security, which can lead to the neglect of primary protection rules.
It is advisable to keep a distance of up to 2 meters from a person showing signs of acute respiratory infection and avoid places of mass gathering of people.
Hands should be washed as often as possible, preferably with soap. The duration of the procedure is 20–40 seconds.
The virus can survive on surfaces for 3 hours. Simple disinfectants can kill the virus, making it impossible for people to be infected.
