The Ministry of Education, together with the specialized Committee of the Verkhovna Rada, plans to expand the powers of the founders of educational institutions at the legislative level when creating a network of academic lyceums.
This was said by the Minister of Education Serhii Shkarlet during the forum "Education of Ukraine 2021: strategic goals and priority areas".
According to him, one of the important tasks at present is the formation of an effective network of secondary education institutions in territorial communities.
"The proposed changes to the law "On comprehensive general secondary education", which the Ministry of Education and Culture is working on together with the relevant Committee of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, will provide for the abolition of restrictions on the powers of village, settlement and local councils, regardless of the population of territorial communities. In particular, it is planned to expand the powers of the founders of educational institutions when creating a network of academic lyceums," said Serhii Shkarlet.
He also emphasized that every child who wishes to study in the 10th, 11th and 12th grades will have this opportunity.
