The Ministry of Education and Science recommended holding autumn vacations in schools during local elections.

This was said during the press conference by Acting Minister of Education and Science Serhii Shkarlet.

According to him, out of more than 4,500 polling stations in the country, almost 3,700 of them are located in school premises.

Therefore, in order to comply with quarantine and sanitary requirements, as well as taking into account the fact that not every school can provide a separate entrance to the polling stations, the Ministry of Education provided recommendations on holding vacations taking into account the election schedule.

Instead, he noted that teaching staffs and teaching councils have the autonomy to determine their academic year.
