The Ministry of Education and Science advises, if necessary, to extend school holidays due to another spike in the spread of the coronavirus in Ukraine.
The Minister of Education and Science, Serhiy Shkarlet, announced this in his Telegram, after consultations with the Minister of Health and the Chief Sanitary Doctor.
According to the Minister of Education, the situation with the spread of the coronavirus in Ukraine is quite tense.
He reminded that on the territory of the regions for which the "red" level of epidemic danger has been established, it is forbidden to visit educational institutions, except for children visiting preschool education institutions, special educational institutions and students of grades 1-4.
"After consulting with the Minister of Health and the Chief State Sanitary Doctor of Ukraine, the Ministry of Education and Culture advises to extend school holidays if necessary. In addition to these measures, taking into account the increase in morbidity rates and the decisions of the regional commissions of the Ministry of Health and the Ministry of Health, the joint recommendations of the Ministry of Health and the Ministry of Health also provide for the introduction of additional restrictions at the "yellow" and "orange" levels of epidemic danger, in particular, the transfer to distance learning of students in grades 5-11 , students of vocational education institutions and students of vocational pre-higher and higher education institutions," Shkarlet emphasized.
He noted that, first of all, the specified restrictions should be applied in administrative-territorial units where the epidemic thresholds for influenza and SARS have been exceeded, as well as where a significant increase in the number of cases of the coronavirus disease is recorded.
"I ask educators and parents to take such measures with understanding. They are forced and aimed at preserving the health of representatives of teaching staff, members of schoolchildren's families, especially those who are at risk of disease," the Minister of Education and Science emphasized.
As you know, the Verkhovna Rada did not rule out the introduction of a new lockdown due to the pace of the spread of the third wave of the pandemic.
