The salary of a Ukrainian teacher, which has increased by 75% in the last two years, must be brought to the market level. This will motivate teachers to work in Ukraine and raise the level of education of children and youth in our country according to national programs and in their native language. The Prime Minister of Ukraine, Volodymyr Groysman, said this when he was in secondary comprehensive school No. 10 in Uzhhorod.
"We increased the salary by 75%. But this is not enough. In Transcarpathia, the number of teacher vacancies is more than 1,600. Many teachers work abroad. Therefore, the income of teachers, especially in border regions, should be competitive with colleagues from neighboring countries. In the medium term, it is necessary to bring the salaries of Ukrainian teachers to the market level," said the Head of Government.
He emphasized that Ukraine is going through a difficult phase of transformations. "It's not easy for us, but we will work to make Ukraine successful," the Prime Minister said.
In this context, he touched on the topic of language and reminded that in Ukraine the languages of all minorities are respected, but Ukrainian is the state language. And as citizens of Ukraine, we should know it. And the state, for its part, must provide the conditions for education: both at the pedagogical level and at the level of broad broadcasting.
