Regarding the Finnish experience of education development, - Acting Minister of Education

The Finnish experience is in many respects a model for school reform in Ukraine, many elements of our New Ukrainian School reform are connected with it.

This was said during a meeting with the Minister of Education of Finland. Minister of Education and Science Serhii Shkarlet.

According to him, Ukraine already has the results of the mid-term review of the "Learning Together" project, which demonstrate the high compliance of the project's indicators with the tasks of school reform.

"Therefore, we can claim that we are moving in the right direction," noted the acting director. Minister of Education Serhii Shkarlet.

The head of the Ministry of Education and Culture also emphasized that Ukrainian teachers express a high degree of trust in Finnish expertise in matters of reforming secondary education and expressed the hope that Finland will continue to support Ukraine, in particular, with the aim of increasing the effectiveness of the implementation of the New Ukrainian School reform.

"We will be grateful for further expert assistance from Finland to improve the qualifications of teachers and prepare modern educational materials within the framework of the continuation of the reform of NUS in the basic school. Also, we would be very useful for Finnish expertise on building a model of a specialized school. After all, the Ministry of Education and Culture is currently working on the ways of implementing the NUS in high school, which according to the reform schedule falls on the year 2027," noted Serhii Shkarlet.

For her part, Finnish Minister of Education Lee Andersson noted that supporting educational reform in Ukraine is a priority for Finland.

"Finland is ready to continue supporting educational reform in Ukraine in the projects "Learning together" and "EU4Skills: Better skills for modern Ukraine". First of all, we are trying to strengthen the potential of teachers who are satisfied with our support and are happy to share our experience in the field of digitalization. There are many reforms in Ukraine. It is very important to support these results," Lee Andersson stressed.

According to her, the European Union and Finland are already working on the strategic framework for digitalization of school education prepared by the Ministry of Education and Culture. The possibility of introducing an additional component to promote the development of digital competences of teachers and the organization of effective distance learning within the framework of the "Let's learn together" project is being considered.
