The rating is based on a group of indicators with equal weighting coefficients of the section of the International Review of the World Ranking of Universities, published in October last year, which relate to the number of foreign students, the number of foreign teachers, the percentage of teachers, and the number of works written with at least one foreign co-author.

Switzerland showed the best result in the rating. In addition to the first three places in the ranking, the final table also included 3 universities - the University of Zurich took 28th place, the University of Lausanne - 34th, and the University of Friborg - 37th.

British universities, especially those located in and around London, received a significant share of prize places. The top twenty included Royal Holloway University of London, Imperial College London, Oxford University, University of St Andrews, Brunel University, Queen Mary University of London and King's University of Belfast.

In contrast, universities in the US and Asia, except for Singapore and Hong Kong, performed poorly. The best American university was the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), which came in at 39, while no Japanese, Chinese or Indian universities made the top 100.
