The press service of the Kyiv City State Administration recommends suspending the educational process in the capital, and motor vehicle owners are advised not to use private cars. This is due to abnormal heat and smog in the city.
"In connection with the spread on the territory of Kyiv of combustion products of fires that occurred in a 30-kilometer zone in the Kyiv region, as well as due to high air temperature, the Commission on Technogenic and Environmental Safety and Emergency Situations under the KMDA made a decision to recommend suspending the educational process in the capital's schools," the message states.
Therefore, today, September 3, the school day will be shortened in the capital's schools, and the next day, September 4, the educational process will be suspended altogether.
"Currently, the city authorities are taking a number of operational measures to reduce the content of harmful substances in the air. In addition, the city authorities appeal to the owners of motor vehicles with a request for the possibility not to use private cars," the press service added.
The city will also organize watering of streets and yards in an enhanced mode.
Emergency specialists recommend close windows and limit time spent outside, especially for children and the elderly. If necessary, use wet bandages to protect the respiratory system. If deterioration of the health condition will follow, immediately contact medical institutions.
