The Ministry of Education and Science recommends that schools consider the possibility of declaring a holiday during quarantine restrictions from January 8 to 24.
The corresponding letter was sent to the addresses of the heads of local departments of education and science.
The department reminds that due to the strengthening of anti-epidemic measures, students will be prohibited from attending schools in the period from January 8 to 24, 2021.
In addition, the Ministry asks to take all possible urgent measures aimed at the proper organization of the educational process in the distance format during this period. In particular, with the help of the "All-Ukrainian School Online" platform.
"At the same time, the Ministry recommends considering the possibility, if necessary, to announce a vacation for this time, taking into account the provisions of parts 3 and 4 of Article 10 of the law "On comprehensive general secondary education," the letter says.
In particular, the Ministry of Education notes that in accordance with the law "On comprehensive general secondary education", the educational process in schools must be organized within the academic year, which begins on September 1, and lasts at least 175 academic days and ends no later than July 1 of the following year.
The MES also reminded that the structure and duration of the academic year, week, day, classes, as well as the form of organization of the educational process should be determined by the pedagogical council of the school within the time limit provided by the educational program.
"In addition, according to the Law, the duration of vacations in educational institutions during the academic year cannot be less than 30 calendar days," the Ministry of Education and Science reported.
