At the press conference, which will be held on March 13, 2015, the Minister of Education and Science of Ukraine, Serhiy Kvit, will talk about reforming the professional education system.

The draft of the Law of Ukraine "On Amendments to Certain Legislative Acts of Ukraine on Vocational and Technical Education", developed by the Ministry of Education and Culture of Ukraine to implement the final provisions of the Law of Ukraine dated July 1, 2014 No. 156-VI "On Higher Education" and taking into account the provisions of the Concept, is ready reform of local self-government and territorial organization of power in Ukraine, approved by the order of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine dated April 1, 2014 No. 333-r.

The law is aimed at improving the management of vocational education by delegating relevant functions to local executive bodies and local self-government. This will strengthen the role of local executive bodies and local self-governments in the formation of the labor potential of the country with maximum consideration of the needs of the regions for qualified workers.

Therefore, according to the new project, narrowly specialized technical vocational schools will be transformed into multidisciplinary professional educational institutions of a new type, which will train specialists of all professions and specialties, without exception, that a specific region needs.

Decisions on changing the format of educational institutions will be made by local executive authorities in agreement with the Ministry of Education and Culture.
