According to the information of the Minister of Education and Science Serhiy Kvita on the page of Facebook President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko signed the new Law of Ukraine "On Higher Education".

"The Law "On Higher Education" was signed by the President! Greetings to all. Ukrainian higher education overcame post-Soviet relapses and found itself in a different reality. It is time for higher education institutions to take advantage of the opportunity and finally become autonomous," the minister emphasized.

Earlier, the law "On higher education" was already adopted by 276 people's deputies in the parliament.

It should be noted that the main innovations of the law "On Higher Education" are: establishment of a new procedure for the acquisition of national status by a higher education institution, elimination of accreditation levels of higher education institutions, establishment of levels and degrees of education, introduction of an academic and first scientific degree - doctor of philosophy, introduction of the National Agency for quality of higher education and independent assessment institutions and quality assurance of higher education, establishment of research universities, consolidation of the system of external independent evaluation at the legislative level, expansion of real autonomy of higher education institutions and others.
