During the meeting of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine, President Petro Poroshenko emphasized that social standards should be raised.
"There is a firm position that despite the difficult situation, we must ensure in 2017 the preservation and improvement of the appropriate level of social standards," the head of state said.
Poroshenko also emphasized that raising the salaries of representatives of the education sector and financing the medical reform is a priority task for the next year.
"It is very important that raising the salaries of education workers, teachers, and medical workers is a priority shared by the president and the government," Poroshenko said.
He expressed the hope that the parliamentary majority will also follow this position.
The President also emphasized the need to ensure growth within the financial resources of civil servants' wages.
