The Verkhovna Rada adopted as a basis the draft law on improving the scientific and methodological support of education and the quality of educational literature.

The purpose of the draft law is to establish clear requirements for the quality of educational literature, primarily that used in schools, and the mechanism for verifying compliance with these requirements, as well as clarifying powers regarding the scientific and methodological support of the education system.

In particular, the draft law proposes to establish a list of powers of the Ministry of Education and Culture regarding the scientific and methodical provision of education, to clarify the rights of other institutions and organizations regarding the scientific and methodical provision of education, as well as to establish a list of principles to which the educational literature used in the educational process must comply.

In addition, the draft law defines the obligation of examination of educational literature produced with the funds of the state budget and establishes the right to initiate the examination of educational literature produced with the funds of individuals and legal entities for compliance with the requirements of the law.
