Psychologist Svitlana Roiz and her team prepared the "Safety Superheroes" manual, which contains recommendations for parents on how to prepare children for possible emergency situations.
She announced this on her Facebook page.
According to her, it is important to talk with children about emergency situations, in particular, so that the information they can receive during the emergency itself does not shock and traumatize them.
"Preparation makes the child's stress "expert", brings him and the adult out of a state of traumatic helplessness and vulnerability. By explaining, we contrast anxiety with productive actions," noted Svitlana Roiz.
The psychologist also stressed that adults should talk to children about safety not because something dangerous is about to happen, but to "train the 'safety muscle'".
"This is necessary in order to feel one's strength in any difficult situation and to feel protected," Svitlana Roiz emphasized.
Thus, the algorithm for preparing children for potential emergency situations, proposed by a psychologist, contains three points: theoretical information and an explanation of why it is necessary; involvement in the game-training, consolidation in the training action.
The guide tells how to prepare children for alarming sirens, possible natural disasters, what to do if they are stuck in an elevator, and how to properly convey information about safety bags to children.
