At an extraordinary meeting of the government, Minister of Social Policy Andriy Reva announced that the draft State Budget for 2017 took into account the proposals of the Ministry of Education and Science, as a result of which teachers' salaries will be increased by 2 tariff categories.
"Thanks to our decision, the teacher's salary starts from the 10th tariff category. Not from the 6th, not from the 7th, not from the 8th, as it was before, but from the 10th. If it was UAH 3,385 in 2016, the minimum salary for a teacher without a category will be UAH 5,266 from January 1, 2017," said Andriy Reva.
In turn, Prime Minister Volodymyr Groysman added that the draft State Budget for 2017 is already ready for the second reading in the Verkhovna Rada and is absolutely honest, balanced and realistic. "This is reality. And we don't need to start the machine and print money to do it. This money is in the real economy," he said.
