The Kyiv City Center for the Rehabilitation of Children with Disabilities has started the second semester of programming classes for its students. Yuriy Krykunov, director of the Department of Social Policy of the KMDA, informs about this.
"Since April 2017, on the basis of this center, for two months, every day from Monday to Saturday, 34 children with disabilities mastered the basic course "Basics of programming." After the summer vacation, studies have resumed. Now, after mastering the basic knowledge of programming, the children are expected to study more in-depth IT areas (Java, Python, Front-End), which will enable them to create their own programs, websites, games, etc. in the future," said Yuriy Krykunov .
The Center's partners and experienced teachers developed the training course, features and content of the training program, determined the requirements for the age of the trainees, their training and skills. Training is free and continues as part of the "Smile to Future" project.
After the graduation of the first programming course, at the beginning of 2018, the Kyiv City Center for the Rehabilitation of Children with Disabilities, together with its partners, plans to recruit the next group.
