Easy fixation of NUS assessment - MES

The Ministry of Education and Science plans to change the regulations governing the recording of grades in the NUS to make this process easier for teachers.

This was reported by the Ministry of Education and Science, announcing a series of webinars on the assessment of NUS students by educational fields.

The Ministry has acknowledged that teachers face difficulties in recording assessment results. In response, the MES is preparing comprehensive support for teachers.

"In the near future, we will provide recommendations and examples of assessment tools tailored to the specifics of each subject. Teachers will also be able to join webinars in educational areas, which will make assessment easier and more streamlined," the ministry said.

As part of the advisory support, the MES plans to develop an Assessment Preparation Guide for each educational sector.

"This tool will help plan assessment and integrate it into the learning process. It will provide examples of activities that will facilitate the assessment of different groups of learning outcomes," the Ministry said.

In addition, in February, the Ministry of Education and Science will publish recommendations for recording assessment results in the classroom journal in accordance with the specifics of each educational area.

Before the start of the 2025/26 school year, teachers will be presented with a new instruction manual for keeping a journal for NUS classes, which will take into account updated approaches to assessment and contain tools for observing and completing the first part of the Certificate of Achievement.

At the end of the first semester, teachers repeatedly made proposals to simplify or even abolish the current assessment system in the secondary level of the NUS.
