The National Agency for Quality Assurance in Higher Education will develop and implement a Policy Paper for higher education degree holders (Bachelor, Master, Ph.D, Doctor of Science). This was announced by the head of the NAZYAVO Secretariat, the elected Head of the Agency, Serhiy Hrapaty, on his Facebook page following the results of the meeting of the NAZYAVO Committee on Ethics.

Representatives of the anti-plagiarism public initiative Dysergate also took part in the meeting of the Committee.

Serhiy Hrapatiy noted that the Policy Paper is a kind of directive or analytical document, which will provide recommendations on avoiding plagiarism when writing bachelor's and master's theses, as well as candidate and doctoral theses.

"In the United States of America and in many European countries, there are such documents that have both a recommendatory and a directive nature and contribute to the fight against plagiarism and compliance with the principles of academic integrity," said the head of the NAZYAVO Secretariat, acting Chairman of the Ethics Committee, Serhiy Hrapaty.

According to him, the Policy Paper will become the desk book of everyone who will acquire various degrees of higher education. "Now many people do not understand what is plagiarism and what is not. This document will provide clear recommendations on how to write a research paper so that there is no plagiarism in it. That way, we'll give everyone a point of reference. This will be an important step in the fight against the spread of plagiarism, cleansing from those who aim only to mindlessly obtain a scientific degree," emphasized Serhiy Hrapaty.

He also informed that the development of the document will be done by NAZYAVO members together with representatives of the anti-plagiarism initiative "Dysergate" and with the involvement of scientists and experts.
