The Cabinet of Ministers has approved the National Strategy for the Development of Inclusive Education for the period up to 2029 and the operational plan for its implementation for 2024-2026.
The relevant act was approved at a government meeting.
The purpose of the National Strategy is to create conditions for access to quality education for every student in accordance with their individual needs and capabilities.
The national strategy envisages individualising learning to meet the abilities and needs of everyone and promoting social integration, tolerance and understanding of diversity.
The adoption of the document will also help develop the potential of applicants to achieve maximum results and reduce discrimination in the educational process.
In addition, the strategy aims to provide teachers with the necessary resources for effective inclusive education and to assist local governments in implementing inclusion policies.
Implementation of the action plan involves improving the monitoring system, enhancing the quality of services provided by inclusive resource centres, creating an inclusive environment in educational institutions, providing them with resources and improving the competencies of teachers.
It is expected that the adoption of the National Strategy will facilitate the implementation of an inclusive approach and ensure equal access to quality education in Ukraine in line with best practices.
