Implementation of school reform, decentralization, inclusion, ensuring the quality of higher education, a separate window for Ukraine within Erasmus+, retraining of teachers, creation of the National Agency for Qualifications - these and other directions are possible for cooperation between the Ministry of Education and Culture and international partners. This was discussed during the meeting of the Minister of Education and Science of Ukraine Lilia Hrynevych with donors on December 12, 2017.
"I would like to start by thanking absolutely all our partners, it is difficult to list all the projects, but this year was crucial - preparatory to the implementation of the education reform. Preparation of standards, teacher courses - this is done with your help. Your work with children from the east, helping to train teachers who work with these children - all this is invaluable. We are very lucky to have such partners," emphasized Liliya Hrynevych.
During the meeting, she presented the main novelties of the Law "On Education", and also emphasized the areas in which the Ministry of Education and Culture needs the most help from international partners. In particular, it was about the retraining of teachers.
"Retraining of teachers is one of the most urgent issues today. We are very grateful to our partners who are already working with us in this direction - the British Council, the Goethe Institute, the French Embassy and many others who have separate pieces of work. If anyone else is interested in this direction of development of cooperation, join in," the Minister said.
She also called for joint work on the rules of work of the National Agency for Qualifications, the development of external independent certification of teachers, and the development of procedures for the work of the National Agency for Quality Assurance of Higher Education.
"The launch of NAZYAVO is extremely important for us. During the voting of the Law "On Education" in the Verkhovna Rada, the deputies shot down the amendment, as a result the composition of the agency, which had practically started its work, was dissolved. For us, this is a critical waste of time. Ensuring the quality of higher education is precisely the area that is currently the worst developed after the adoption of the Law "On Higher Education" in 2014," Liliya Hrynevych explained.
It should be added that the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine pays considerable attention to the coordination of work between various international partners, so that resources are used as rationally and efficiently as possible.
"We appreciate all the help provided. Thanks to her, we were able to move from the mode of advocacy and justification in action to anticipation. Now we can already say that we have adjusted our work in such a way as to implement truly strategic tasks for establishing the quality of education," the minister added.
