During a briefing on the Law "On Education", First Deputy Minister of Education and Science Inna Sovsun noted that some schools are understaffed and too expensive.
By switching to the educational subvention funding model, funds will flow to a specific district according to the number of students, and then be distributed among schools at the discretion of the local administration. Some schools are understaffed, so the Ministry of Education and Culture of Ukraine believes that the cost of educating one student in such schools can be 30-50 thousand UAH. "In addition to the fact that such schools are expensive for the budget, they do not provide quality education," Inna Sovsun said.
According to the law "On Education", primary education should be obtained as close as possible to the place of residence of the child, and local authorities and the state should maintain comfortable conditions of access to the place of education in basic school.
In some, special conditions, children can be provided with dormitories so that they can get a full general secondary education.
