Ukrainian universities will be able to obtain a license online. This was announced by the Deputy Minister of Education and Science Roman Hreba on Public Radio.
According to him, the corresponding service will be operational already this year.
"This year, we want to finally complete the topic of licensing the activities of higher education institutions using mobile applications and our EDEBO database, that is, in electronic services. We have a register of all higher education institutions, where information about all higher education institutions is stored... And we make it so that the university submits an application in electronic form - by forming the appropriate application in the electronic system, and automatically receives a license if it meets all the criteria, which are provided by the license terms. This service will start this year. I can say this with confidence and conviction. We will do our best," the official said.
In addition, according to the official, this year the MES will start using blockchain technology to verify invitations issued to foreign students.
"We have the Ukrainian State Center of International Education, which issues invitations to foreign students entering Ukraine to study. We want to use blockchain technology to verify the authenticity of the issued invitation. This will be a new service introduced in the Ministry of Education and Culture. It will also contain a mobile application for foreign students so that they can choose Ukrainian universities for admission," said the deputy minister.
