IT specialists from Estonia will help establish electronic administrative services in Ukraine. This became known after the meeting of the Minister of Economy of Ukraine Pavlo Sheremet with the head of the parliamentary group "Estonia - Ukraine" Tinis Palts.
One of the main advantages of such a system is the openness and transparency of the authorities for citizens.
The Ukrainian minister emphasized - "We need to speed up the transition to electronic government, as this will contribute to the openness and transparency of government for citizens."
This service is quite common in Estonia, so their help is invaluable for Ukraine. Tinisa Paltsa assured that those specialists who were involved in the development of e-government services in Estonia will provide all the necessary assistance to Ukrainian colleagues and provide the necessary consultations. "Our experts helped Georgia and other countries at one time, now we can help build a corresponding system in Ukraine as well," the Estonian official emphasized.
A very important factor is that Estonia is one of the most successful countries in the world in terms of e-government services, on par with Singapore. Estonia's development in this direction is evidenced by the number of people who have a special ID card, which is about 93 % of the country's population. This device replaces basic documents (passport, driver's license, etc.). This card enables Estonians to vote in elections, fill out tax returns (about 95 % of tax documents are submitted this way), register a business and even receive electronic prescriptions (about 95 % of medicines are sold this way) from the comfort of their homes. This is facilitated by the quality of the country's 4G Internet coverage, which is available in almost all corners of the country.
