This year, 31.4 million hryvnias were allocated from the state budget for the purchase of equipment for schools in Kyiv, where science subjects are studied in depth. The priority directions for the distribution of these funds were presented during an extended meeting of the board of the Department of Education and Science, Youth and Sports of the KMDA.
In particular, the money will be used to create classrooms for the science and mathematics cycle, research equipment and equipment for conducting interactive lessons. These will be devices for the preparation and conducting of external language examinations, computers and office equipment for primary schools. In addition, they plan to purchase equipment for teaching children with special educational needs. Also, part of the funds will be used to modernize the Ukrainian language classrooms in schools where the languages of national minorities are studied.
"Additionally, funds will be allocated for the creation of a new educational space within the framework of the concept of the New Ukrainian School. And in order for educational institutions to receive funding in accordance with their needs, we will carry out separate work. Together with district education departments and international experts, we will work on the basic financial standard for preschool education," said Olena Fidanyan, director of the Department of Education and Science, Youth and Sports of the KMDA.
