This year, the Ministry of Education and Science plans to completely reform the system of providing schools with textbooks.

This was said by the Minister of Education Serhiy Shkarlet during the meeting of the Board of the Ministry of Education, Culture and Sports, at which the list of textbooks for the 4th grade that can be printed at the expense of the state budget in 2021 was approved.

According to him, a detailed analysis of textbook projects has already been carried out, and fragments of electronic versions of the original textbook layouts have been provided for public viewing.

"Next is the preparation of textbooks for printing, their publication and delivery to each educational institution. These processes must be implemented with the highest possible quality and within the specified time," Shkarlet noted.

Also, the Institute for the Modernization of the Content of Education is developing a new procedure for selecting textbooks to fulfill the Minister's mandate.

The project envisages access to textbook fragments in the electronic version at all stages of competitive selection. It is planned to ensure openness and transparency of each stage of the textbook competition and an open list of experts who will conduct the examination and their conclusions.
