The "New Ukrainian School" project for children who will enter the first grade on September 1, 2020 will not be canceled, but there is funding for the purchase of equipment.

This was said by acting of the Minister of Education and Science Ljubomyr Mandziy on the air of the "Mokryk Po Zhivomu" program on hromadske.

"Despite the budget limitation, we have one billion sixty million, which have already been received by the managers of the funds - regional budgets. Regional state administrations should have already made appropriate decisions and distributed these funds among educational institutions," says Mandziy.

She noted that monitoring of how the allocated money is distributed is currently underway. Its results should be ready on June 9.

"If there are any lags behind the schedule, we will hold meetings with the heads of State Administrations to emphasize the importance. There is a procedure for using these funds. I know that procurement processes have started," Mandziy informed.

At the same time, there is currently not enough money for additional training of teachers within the framework of the "New Ukrainian School" project.

"It is still difficult with the additional training of teachers, and we have not received this resource, which is more than 300 million hryvnias, yet. But technically we cannot hold it because of the quarantine," said Lyubomyra Mandziy, adding that most of the teachers of the younger classes have already undergone certain trainings with the coaches of the "New Ukrainian School".
