Children and workers with a temperature above 37.2 C will not be allowed to enter kindergartens, the premises must be disinfected and ventilated, and children should spend more time outdoors. This is stated in the temporary recommendations on organizing the work of kindergartens during the period of quarantine due to COVID-19. The recommendations were signed by the Chief State Sanitary Doctor and published on the website of the Ministry of Health.
"Kindergartens will be opened during the period of adaptive quarantine, and not after its termination, so the temperature of children and employees will be measured, and the premises will be additionally disinfected, cleaned and ventilated. The safety and health of children and kindergarten workers is our main priority," said the acting director. Minister of Education and Science of Ukraine Lubomyra Mandziy.
At the entrance to the preschool education institution, employees and children must pass a temperature screening. Also, during the day, at least once every 4 hours, employees must measure the temperature of children. Children whose body temperature is higher than 37.2 C and those who have symptoms of an acute respiratory disease should be isolated and the health worker and parents should be notified.
At the entrance to the kindergarten, there should be a place for treating hands with an alcohol-based antiseptic, as well as a reminder for children and adults about the importance of hand disinfection. Institutions can use the posters developed by the Ministry of Education and Culture.
During the quarantine period, kindergartens will be prohibited, in particular:
– use reusable towels, soft toys and carpets with long pile;
- wear street shoes indoors;
- conduct activities with the participation of children from more than one group;
- hold parent meetings, except for those held remotely.
During the adaptive quarantine, the Ministry of Health recommends:
- conduct additional classes on the prevention of viral diseases for children;
- give priority to outdoor activities;
- create maximum distance in the group and during meals;
- limit classes that require physical contact or additional equipment;
- develop a schedule of walks in such a way as to prevent mixing of groups.
Preschool education institutions must provide employees with personal protective equipment, disinfect surfaces at least once every 2 hours, wet cleaning twice a day, and ventilate the premises during the day.
With the opening of kindergartens, preschool workers should pay special attention to hand disinfection and wash them with soap or alcohol-containing antiseptics at least once every 2 hours. All employees must wear masks or respirators during the working day.
