The Ministry condemned political agitation in educational institutions and called on regional state administrations to take appropriate measures. This is stated in the letter of the Ministry of Education and Culture "Regarding the prevention of political agitation in educational institutions" No. 1/9-407, which was sent to the regional and Kyiv city state administrations on June 26, 2018.
"The Ministry condemns the placement of any party propaganda in educational institutions, the holding of political actions and the involvement of participants in the educational process. We ask you to take effective measures to prevent political campaigning, promotion of political branding, and the use of educational institutions to accommodate public receptions in educational institutions," the letter states.
The MES also reminds that one of the principles of education in Ukraine is its independence from political parties, public and religious organizations. According to Article 31 of the new Law of Ukraine "On Education", political parties (associations) have no right to interfere in the educational activities of educational institutions.
