For the successful implementation of the New Ukrainian School in educational institutions of the capital, the city added 126% from the city budget to the state funding. This was announced by the director of the Department of Education and Science, Youth and Sports during a meeting of the board of educators in Kyiv.
She noted that the district state administrations listened to the city authorities and revised their budgets, adding funds for the successful implementation of the educational reform.
Currently, the financing of the New Ukrainian School is 204.9 million hryvnias. Namely, UAH 69.6 million was allocated from the state budget, and UAH 135.3 million was allocated from the city budget, which is 126 % more than stipulated by the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine resolution, since the creation of a new educational environment is carried out on the basis of co-financing: no more than 70% - at the expense of subvention, no less than 30% - at the expense of local budgets.
To support 1 first-grader per year under the "New Ukrainian School" program, an average of UAH 6,000 is allocated in the city, and UAH 2,000 from the state budget; from the city budget - UAH 4,000. - noted Olena Fidanyan.
At the same time, the approach of the districts to the distribution of funds for this program remains uneven and ranges from UAH 7,000. to almost 2 thousand hryvnias. per first grader.
She reminded that the program provides for the purchase of didactic materials, modern furniture, and computer equipment for general secondary education institutions to create a new educational space that will meet all the needs of future first-graders.
