The Ministry of Education and Science has determined how this year the entrance tests for the master's degree will be organized and conducted using the technology of external examinations. The relevant Procedure has already been registered with the Ministry of Justice and is posted on the website of the Ministry of Education and Culture.
Entrants in the fields of knowledge 03 "Humanities" (except for the specialty 035 "Philology"), 05 "Social and behavioral sciences", 06 "Journalism", 08 "Law", 24 "Service sphere" and 29 "International relations".
In particular, entrants to the master's degree "Law" and "International Law" will have:
- a single entrance exam in a foreign language - English, or German, or French, or Spanish. The tests will include Reading and Use of Language sections.
– a single professional entrance exam in Law and General educational legal competences. The Law block contains a test of 8 disciplines (constitutional, administrative, civil, civil procedural, criminal, criminal procedural law of Ukraine, international public law and international protection of human rights). The second block includes testing of the following competencies: analytical thinking, critical thinking, logical thinking.
Entrants to the master's degree in the fields of knowledge 03 "Humanities" (except for the specialty 035 "Philology"), 05 "Social and behavioral sciences", 06 "Journalism", 24 "Service sphere" and 29 "International relations" will take only a single entrance exam from a foreign language.
"In 2018, the technologies of external independent evaluation are used for admission to the master's degree in the specialties "Law" and "International Law". At this stage, the Ministry of Education and Culture is moving from piloting this format of entrance tests, as it was in 2016 and 2017, to their regular use. At the same time, a single entrance exam in a foreign language is being introduced on a pilot basis for admission to a number of humanitarian specialties. The purpose of these innovations is to ensure integrity in admission to master's degrees, to improve the quality of master's training in institutions of higher education," said Oleg Sharov, Director General of the Directorate of Higher Education and Adult Education of the Ministry of Education and Culture.
Registration of participants will begin on May 14 and will last until 6 p.m. June 5.
The foreign language exam will be held on July 11
Exam in law and legal competences - July 13.
For registration, the applicant will have to contact the admissions committee of one of the higher education institutions chosen by him. The confirmation of registration is the examination slip issued by the commission. After that, a participant's account will be created on the UTSOYAO website for each registered entrant, which can be accessed by the number of the examination sheet and the PIN code specified in it.
In particular, an invitation-pass with information about the testing point will be placed in this office. It will start at 10:00 a.m., admission to the point will be opened 45 minutes and closed 10 minutes before the start.
To participate in the testing, the applicant must present:
– examination sheet;
– an identity document (the series (if available) and the number of which are indicated in the examination sheet);
– invitation-pass.
The results of the test will also be posted in the electronic offices of the participants on the website of the UTSOYAO.
On the budget, recommendations for enrollment will be made by August 13, and enrollment itself – by August 20 (12.00).
