On November 21, the capital will honor the feat of the participants of the Revolution of Dignity and perpetuate the memory of the Heroes of the Heavenly Hundred. In compliance with the Decree of the President of Ukraine "On celebrating the Day of Dignity and Freedom in 2017", the appropriate plan of events was approved in the capital.
Thus, on this day, it is planned to hold memorial, solemn and cultural and artistic events, flower-laying ceremonies with the participation of representatives of executive authorities, local self-government bodies, clergy, the public, participants of the revolutionary events in Ukraine in 2004, 2013-2014, participants of the anti-terrorist operation in Donetsk and Luhansk regions, in places connected with the mentioned events, in particular, on the Alley of Heroes of the Heavenly Hundred. Also, in honor of the memory of the fallen Heroes of the Heavenly Hundred, a youth procession, laying flowers and lighting candles will take place on the Alley of the Heroes of the Heavenly Hundred.
On the occasion of the Day of Dignity and Freedom, thematic public events will be held on Sofia and Mykhailivska Squares and on Maidan Nezalezhnosti, str. Khreshchatyk (on the stretch from Bohdan Khmelnytskyi St. to Instytutska St., on the pedestrian part). And in the National Historical and Architectural Museum "Kyiv Fortress" from November 15 to 25, the photo exhibition "Maidan - Fortress of the Spirit" will be held.
During November, there will also be thematic educational events: book exhibitions, educational classes, discussions, thematic evenings, conferences, round table meetings, etc. in educational and cultural institutions of Kyiv.
It is worth noting that, if necessary, traffic will be blocked during the preparation and implementation of events, and changes will be made to the operation of city public passenger transport.
