It is necessary to make changes to the Ukrainian legislation that will stimulate scientific institutions and higher educational institutions to commercialize the results of their own research and development. According to the press service of the Ministry of Education and Culture, this was discussed during the scientific and practical round table "Problems and prospects for the development of scientific parks of Ukraine".

The event brought together representatives of 40 universities, heads of 16 science parks of Ukraine, representatives of business and the scientific community, whose areas of interest include issues of academic entrepreneurship and the implementation of innovations.

They discussed the development of innovative entrepreneurship in a classical research-type university, world practice and realities of legal regulation of science parks in Ukraine, as well as the role of science parks in the development of universities, regions, and the country.

In particular, it was emphasized that the process of technology transfer and commercialization is not simple. It requires researchers to have additional knowledge and competencies, a certain entrepreneurial initiative and the opportunity to receive support from professional consultants and mentors on many issues. This is, for example, an assessment of the potential and ways of commercializing technology, creating startups and finding initial investments, etc. As a rule, such assistance should be provided by certain innovative development institutions that were created in Ukraine, including thanks to international technical assistance programs.
