The Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine will insist on the publication of their electronic version when purchasing textbooks.
This was stated by the head of the Ministry of Education and Culture, Liliya Hrynevych, at the presentation of the first interactive school library in Kyiv, reports Ukrinform.
"Now, when talking with publishers, when making any purchases, including textbooks, starting next year we will demand from them an electronic book along with a paper one. Thanks to the fact that we will have an e-book, it can be reproduced in a modern school library, it will also be possible to download it to a child's tablet and not carry huge briefcases filled with heavy textbooks," said Hrynevych.
As the publication reports, the press service of the ministry clarified that the requirement for an electronic version will be included in the contract with publishing houses. It is planned that the electronic version will be in public access. At the same time, it is noted that the Ministry will fulfill the requirement to provide schools with textbooks in a paper version.
