The head of the Ternopil regional organization of the trade union of education and science workers, Lyudmila Mokey, registered a petition for the return of the allowance.
"We once again appeal to you with the hope of being heard about the need to maintain the premium for the prestige of teaching work in a fixed amount of 20 percent, as it was guaranteed by the resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine dated March 23, 2011 No. 373," the petition states.
The appeal emphasizes that the government, by Resolution No. 88 of March 25, 2014, violated the main provisions of Articles 22, 43, 64 of the Constitution of Ukraine, Article 57 of the Law of Ukraine "On Education", Articles 8, 21, 22 of the Law of Ukraine "On Wages" and the General agreements
"This resolution worsened the conditions of pay for teachers, actually calling into question the social importance of their profession, as the flexible amount of up to 20 % in the conditions of unequal financial support of local budgets led to the fact that in almost every region there are several districts that do not pay such an allowance or they pay a meager amount," the petition states.
The trade union notes that this leads to a significant decrease in the low standard of living of educators, the creation of an extremely tense situation and unrest in teams, especially against the background of rising prices for essential goods and tariffs for payment for communal services, which harms the normal course of the educational process and are undesirable at such a difficult time for the country, and also contribute to various manipulations.
Therefore, in the Ternopil regional organization of the trade union of education workers, they suggest to President Poroshenko to suspend the effect of the government resolution No. 88 of March 25, 2014 and to introduce a draft law to the parliament, which would provide for the right of pedagogical workers to an allowance for the prestige of work in the amount of 20% of the official salary.
