In Kyiv and Kharkiv, the leadership of local education departments recommends that schools hold a last-bell celebration on 30 May. This was announced by Valentyn Mondriyivskyi in Kyiv and Olga Demenko in Kharkiv. The format of the celebration will depend on the conditions of education: in Kharkiv, celebrations will be held online for remote schools, while in underground schools where classes are held in person, traditional line-ups in the yards will not be held. Graduation ceremonies are scheduled to take place in safe rooms.

There are currently about 60,000 schoolchildren in Kharkiv, some of whom study in specially equipped underground educational institutions. The fourth such school has recently opened in the Shevchenkivskyi district.

Lviv schools have autonomy in choosing the end of the school year. Most of them will finish classes by 1 June, although some schools plan to finish by the middle of the month.

Kyiv has already determined the timeframe for issuing educational documents, which will depend on the security situation:

- Primary school students will receive their certificates from 2 to 6 June,

- basic secondary school graduates - from 11 to 14 June,

- high school students - from 18 to 21 June.

In addition, between 31 May and 30 June, schools will focus on compensatory education, bridging educational gaps and adaptation measures for students in grades 1-10. Students will be offered participation in creative courses, language clubs, training practices on the subject of "Defence of Ukraine", first aid, security and cyber defence training.

As a reminder, according to the Cabinet of Ministers' resolution of 23 July 2024, the 2024/2025 academic year in Ukraine can officially last until 30 June. This is the maximum deadline for completing the educational process, but not a mandatory date for all institutions.
