Young teachers have a positive effect on increasing children's interest in learning.
This is stated in the results of the study on ensuring the training of pedagogical workers Training Assessment Project, conducted within the framework of the global program of the World Bank in the field of education "A systematic approach to improving educational results".
The authors of the study note that the increase in interest in learning is observed due to the use by young teachers of innovative approaches to teaching, friendly attitude towards pupils, etc.
"Respondents note the positive influence of young teachers on increasing children's interest in learning due to the use of innovative approaches to teaching, friendly attitude towards pupils, etc.," the results of the study state.
At the same time, school principals name the following as the main reasons for the lack of young personnel in schools: lack of motivation, biased attitude towards young teachers, and the presence of a large number of private schools with significantly higher salary levels.
In addition, the majority of respondents point to the importance of self-education of teachers throughout their lives for the introduction of new methods and approaches to teaching and the modernization of knowledge and skills.
The most popular among students in Ukraine are the programs developed by non-governmental organizations (about 260,000 students during the 2019/2020 or 2020/2021 academic years) and Institutes of Postgraduate Pedagogical Education (about 215,000 students), which is due to the relevance of the topics and areas offered, as well as actualization educational programs to modern needs.
"The most common directions of professional development programs are the development of professional competences in the field of teaching methods, the use of information, communication and digital technologies in education," the authors of the study emphasize.
