As reported by the State Agency for Science, Innovation and Informatization, as early as 2015, Ukraine will lack about 100,000 specialists in IT exports and about 70 thousand in the domestic market.

Ukraine is already experiencing a significant shortage of personnel in the IT industry. However, compared to the countries of the EU or the USA, which are already faced with an acute shortage of IT workers, this problem has not yet reached such a scale for our country. In total, 350,000 specialists will be involved in the field of information services (about 125,000 people in the export segment, about 225,000 in the domestic segment), the department summarizes.

At the same time, the head of Derzhinformnauka noted, the number IT specialists in Ukraine at the beginning of the year, there are about 250,000 people, 40,000 of them are certified high-class specialists who create competitive export-oriented products.

Currently, there are about 18.2 million IT users in the world. By 2019, their number may increase by 45% - up to 26.4 million. Today, the leader in IT is the USA, which has 3.6 million developers, followed by India - 2.75 million. According to expert forecasts, already in 2018 the number Indian specialists will increase to 5.2 million against 4.5 million American ones. By this time, China will have almost 1.9 million programmers, and Russia - about 1.3 million.
