The Ministry of Education provided an explanation regarding the evaluation of the results of the 3rd and 4th grade students of the New Ukrainian School.
According to the letter of the Ministry of Education and Culture No. 1/9-174, teachers of the 3rd grade are suggested to follow the methodical recommendations approved by the orders of the Ministry of Education No. 924 and No. 1154. Prior to the approval of methodological recommendations in the new edition, teachers should conduct formative and final evaluation of 3rd grade students verbally, without displaying the results of the final evaluation in journals.
The final evaluation must be carried out in the form of diagnostic works provided for by the calendar and thematic planning.
According to the letter of the Ministry of Education and Culture, teachers are allowed to record the results of checking and evaluating diagnostic works only in notebooks (on sheets with works) in the form of short evaluation judgments with advice on improving the results, taking into account the expected learning outcomes.
It is also proposed to consider filling out individual forms for evaluating the student's learning results, recording the indexes of the characteristics of the learning results being evaluated, and providing for a teacher-friendly format for summarizing the results of the final evaluation.
It is suggested that information about the results of learning in academic subjects be recorded in the Certificates of Achievement based on the results of diagnostic works, taking into account their dynamics in favor of the student, and the section "Characteristics of end-to-end skills" should be filled in based on observations of the students' educational activities during the semester.
As for the students of the 4th grade of NUSH, it is recommended to carry out their formative and final assessment in accordance with the methodological recommendations approved by the order of the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine No. 1146.
In addition, the Ministry of Education drew attention to the fact that the sample of the Student Achievement Certificate is indicative, therefore the indicators of the characteristics of comprehensive skills/learning outcomes can be selected from among the available ones or specified in accordance with the decision of the educational institution's pedagogy.
The department also reminded that in connection with the release of 4th grade students from the state final certification in the 2020/2021 academic year, in the class journal (on the page of the section "Summary of the students' educational achievements") and in the certificate of achievements (if available of the corresponding table) in the corresponding columns, the entry "zv" (released) is made.
