In the village of Cherny Potik, Nadvirnyan district, Ivano-Frankivsk region, there is no place for children to study. Currently, more than 400 children seek to acquire knowledge, but the premises of the old school cannot accommodate such a large number of students, informs ZIK.
Some study in the attached accounting department of the village council, the rest - in the former teachers' apartments and the gym, which was "moved" to the village club.
"We have a class where eighteen children are currently studying. So there are two offices left for the village council - the secretary and the chairman," says Vasyl Shovgenyuk, head of Chornyi Potik village.
Almost two dozen fifth-graders are forced to huddle on sixteen square meters. An accountant, a cashier and a land manager once worked here. "The distance from the blackboard to the desk is very small, the desks are shifted. But the main thing is that they study well, are diligent," noted art teacher Vasylyna Shovgeniuk. The classrooms of the primary school in this village are housed in apartments that were once intended for teachers.
"Now there are ten classes in which more than two hundred students study. Such a glove. Of course, this does not comply with any norms," emphasizes the deputy director of the school, Vasyl Vasylyshyn. The premises where high school students study, although more spacious, are in a state of disrepair. "Everything is in the fungus. In addition, the building is made of wood," says school director Mykhailo Struk.
According to the estimate of the Nadvirnya District State Administration, nearly 13 million hryvnias are needed to complete the construction of the school. However, there is only 500,000 in the region for this need, so all hope is on the state Regional Development Fund.
"We have 200,000 from the district budget and 239,000 from the regional budget. I think we could pour the floor and start the masonry. However, I am not ready to say whether we will build the first floor," admits Bohdan Zelenchuk, deputy head of the Nadvirnya RDA.
Villagers have been asking officials to build a new school in the village for almost 20 years. Officials promise to continue the construction of Chornopotokivska school already this month. But when it will be completed, no one can predict.
