A delegation of educators from Ukraine visited the Czech Republic in order to exchange experience in implementing reforms in the field of education, to develop an educational policy and establish cooperation.
The participants of the meeting were the head of the Committee of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine on Education and Science Liliya Hrynevych, member of the Parliamentary Committee of the Verkhovna Rada Taras Kremin, First Deputy Minister of Education and Science Inna Sovsun, Deputy Minister of Education and Science Pavlo Polyanskyi, rector of Kyiv University named after B. Grinchenko, Academician of the National Academy of Pedagogical Sciences of Ukraine Viktor Ognevyuk, assistant to the rector of Sumy State University for quality management of education Darina Levus and Head of the Public Council at the Ministry of Education and Culture Galina Usatenko.
The purpose of the educators' stay in the Czech Republic was to identify and guide issues of reform and functioning of the industry, in particular, in the segment of general secondary and professional education.
At the meeting, the vice-president of the Senate of the Czech Republic, Mrs. Milusha Horska, spoke about the successes of the educational reform, the experience of working on phased laws on education. Also, issues of teacher's career growth and evaluation of his qualifications, the National Framework of Qualifications and Education Levels, financing of the educational sector were discussed.
Educators from Ukraine met with the head of the Committee on European Affairs Ondrzej Benishek and the representative of the Committee on Education Vaclav Hampel of the Czech Parliament and discussed the strategy of cooperation between Ukraine and the Czech Republic, in particular, in the European space of education.
It should be noted that it is the Czech Republic in the Visegrad Four that intends to raise the issue of educational cooperation with Ukraine. During the meeting of the Ukrainian delegation with the member of the European Parliament from the Czech Republic, Mykhaila Shoidrova, a great friend of Ukraine, strategic areas of cooperation were discussed - in particular, the expansion of the quota of participants of the EU Program "Erasmus+" for Ukraine. Thus ended the visit of the Ukrainian delegation to the Czech Republic.
In the future, the experience of the EU countries can be used in the finalization of the framework law of Ukraine "On Education", and especially in the preparation of a "road map" of steps for reforming preschool, general secondary and vocational education.
