The Ministry of Education and Science has started preparations for the implementation of the State Standard of Basic Secondary Education.
This was stated by T. v. at. Minister of Education and Science Serhii Shkarlet during a press conference dedicated to the State Standard.
The Ministry emphasizes that the State Standard of Basic Secondary Education is the basis for the implementation of the "New Ukrainian School" reform in grades 5-9.
"Preparations for the implementation of the provisions of the Standard have already begun, and schoolchildren will study according to it from 2022, when the 5th grades will become part of the New Ukrainian School," Serhiy Shkarlet noted.
Thus, from October 2020 to March 2021, according to representatives of the Ministry of Education and Culture, work on typical educational and model curricula will continue.
It is planned that from November 2020 to September 2021, a system for evaluating competencies acquired at the level of basic secondary education will be developed.
Also, as noted at the press conference, during the next academic year, starting in September 2021, the piloting of teaching and methodical materials will take place in the pilot 5th grades of the New Ukrainian School.
In addition, the department informs that from March 2021 to August 2022, it is planned to carry out appropriate professional development of teachers.
We will remind that on September 30, 2020, the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine approved the State Standard of Basic Secondary Education.
