The Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine announced the acceptance of documents and materials of candidates (teams) for the State Prize of Ukraine in the field of education for 2017 in the nominations "preschool and extra-curricular education", "general secondary education", "vocational and technical education", "higher education ", "scientific achievements in the field of education" (Letter of the Ministry of Education and Culture No. 1/9-576 dated November 1, 2016).

The main criterion for awarding the State Prize of Ukraine in the field of education should be the practical value of the work of candidates (teams) for the implementation of education reform at the national level. This was stated by the Minister of Education and Science of Ukraine Liliya Hrynevych at the meeting of the Committee on the State Prize of Ukraine in the field of education.

"This Award is very important. I am convinced that any motivation for achievements in the field of pedagogical science, especially for those that will help us implement education reform, should be encouraged and supported by the state," said Liliya Hrynevych.

The minister emphasized that the work of the Committee on the State Prize of Ukraine in the field of education should be as transparent as possible and be guided by new procedures that will be clear and open to the public. The committee will work in a renewed composition, now it includes representatives of educational institutions, public organizations and the expert environment.

On October 27, 2016, at their meeting, the members of the Committee approved the updated Procedure for nominating candidates (teams) for the State Prize of Ukraine in the field of education.

Due to the fact that for some time the State Prize was not awarded at all, the works previously submitted for the State Prize will not be automatically included in the competition, but the participants will be able to submit their works according to new, transparent procedures at their own request.

Documents and materials of candidates (teams) are requested to be submitted to the Institute of Modernization of the Content of Education from November 1, 2016 to March 1, 2017 at the address: 01135, Kyiv, str. Metropolitan Vasyl Lypkivskyi, 36, room 104.

The recipients of the State Prize will not only receive the title of State Prize laureate, but also a monetary reward. The official ceremony of awarding titles and awards will be timed to the Day of Education Workers.
