The police will fine citizens for not wearing a mask in public places of the "red" quarantine zones only after ignoring the warning.
Yaroslav Trakalo, Deputy Director of the Department - Head of the Online Communication Support Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, reported this in a comment to Ukrinform.
"No one will impose fines immediately. First, the police will conduct a preventive conversation, why the mask regime is important. If there is a misunderstanding on the part of the citizens, then of course they can fine," he said.
According to Trakal, a fine in the amount of UAH 17,000 will be sent to the court, and a decision on violation will be issued by the police on the spot in the amount of UAH 170.
As you know, on March 22, the Cabinet of Ministers adopted a resolution prohibiting, in particular, being in public places in the regions classified as a red zone of epidemic danger without the use of masks or respirators.
According to the document, in the red zone it is forbidden to stay in public areas without wearing personal protective equipment, including respirators or protective masks that cover the nose and mouth, including self-made ones.
