This year, the Ministry of Education and Science will begin piloting the "New Ukrainian School" reform at the level of basic secondary education.

This was said by the Minister of Education Serhii Shkarlet during the forum "Education of Ukraine 2021: strategic goals and priority areas".

In addition, he said that the Ministry of Education, together with the National Academy of Pedagogical Sciences, will work on creating a senior specialized school and developing the content of specialized education, as well as improving the qualifications of teachers.

"The key task of the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine in 2021 is to continue the reform of the system of general secondary education in accordance with the Laws of Ukraine "On Education", "On Comprehensive General Secondary Education" and the Concept "New Ukrainian School", - noted the Minister of Education.

Also, the Ministry of Education and Science plans to introduce a pedagogical internship, which will allow an experienced teacher to receive 20% of additional payments for mentoring.
